This coin has a special design on the reverse side of the quarter dollar coin to celebrate the Bicentennial of the United States. The bicentennial commemorates the 200th anniversary of a significant event in history, in this case, the signing of the Declaration of Independence. During the bicentennial celebration, the United States Mint issued special coins known as "drummer boy quarters" due to their distinctive design.
